Photographing Morning Glory Flowers

I have a special place for morning morning glories in my heart.  I created a painting back in October of 2010 of a little gray cat sitting next to a morning glory flower, which is based on a photograph I took of morning glories planted in my mom’s garden up in the San Bernardino Mountains.  Actually, I wish I had taken a picture of Buster dog standing next to the morning glories over ten years ago because this was the fondest memory that I ever had of these flowers.  Maybe someday I will also paint a picture of Buster next to a morning glory, but for the present I enjoy photographing these blooms.   Over the years I have taken many pictures of morning glories.

Many green worms have been chewing on the morning glory plant this summer, so I am glad the flowers were able to bloom.

The Photography of Lake Arrowhead

When I mention Lake Arrowhead photography many people probably think exclusively of Lake Arrowhead itself, but there is much more to this vicinity than just that. Actually, I prefer to photograph the trees, mountains, animals, and other aspects of the mountain as I go for nature walks. Growing up in the San Bernardino Mountains was a true priviliege for me, especially since it gave me the opportunity to be separated from the urban sprawl that is Southern California. Do not get me wrong, I love the diversity and culture that can be found in our Southern California cities, but growing up in the mountains was perfect for an introvert like me. I went for walks with my dog in the forest, and drew pictures of the trees for fun. I even used to jaunt into the woods to day dream, or to read books, which is something most children living in the city cannot do on a daily basis.  Some of the watermarks on pictures are from my old site, but as you know, my current domain is sweetbearieart.com

The pink, tangerine, and purple tones found in these sunset high atop the San Bernardino Mountains make the sky look like it is infused with a brilliant artist’s brush.

Photographing The Santa Fe Railroad

The other day I went for a walk around the Santa Fe Depot in Redlands, and I took some photographs of the architecture.

The Santa Fe Depot is no longer in use, but it is still a historic landmark and a must see.  Below are a couple of videos I created of my walk around the Santa Fe Depot.

The videos help bring this one majestic train stop back to life.

The Black Cat

A very sweet little black cat enjoys playing with cat balls, and sitting on her towel draped chair.  Irina is the name of this very special cat, and she is lucky to spend many hours in her container garden.

Irina even likes to eat basil when I tear it up and put it on top of her wet cat food.
