Today the letter O is for open spaces because I am continuing to share the photographs I took on my hike up in the San Bernardino Mountains. Personally, I enjoy nature since I grew up in the mountains, and it is comforting to see trees, rocks, wild flowers, chaparral, and other plant and animal life can be found out in the open during a hike.
Great photos!
Thanks!
Beautiful. I think the San Bernardino Mountains are along the Pacific Crest Trail, no? Have you read ‘Wild: Lost and Found on the Pacific Crest Trail’ by Cheryl Strayed? Awesome book; I think you’d enjoy it.
The Pacific Crest Trail can be picked up about two miles from where I took this hike. The San Bernardino Mountains are about a hundred miles inland from the ocean, but the trail does go near the ocean on other parts of its length up the Pacific Coast. I have not read that book, but I will have to check it out. AT the moment I am reading a book about wild flowers on the Pacific Coast, even though that is not about the Pacific Crest Trail specifically.
Although I’m not really a fan of the outdoors, I’d like to try hiking sometime. The view is amazing 🙂
There are guided tours probably near where you live. These can be at all levels of hiking abilities :). I love the view on that day I went hiking, and the spring flowers made it come to life.
How pretty. I think I would like hiking in this kind of area, rather than the woods we have.
There are wooded areas five miles from this location, but it becomes more deserty on the backside of the mountain. I think hiking in all types of areas can be fun, but I enjoyed the wild flowers I spotted on my hike last week.
So beautiful!!
I’m like you. When I take pictures of things like that daisy, one is never enough. 🙂
Where Legends Begin
I am including all the pictures I took here because each is pretty, and it might bore a few, but I love flowers :).
Really pretty up there! It is nice too with the wide open spaces! I can see why you enjoy spending time hiking there!
betty
I really enjoyed being up there. It was a nice day along the walking path.
