The Black And White Joshua Tree With The Moon Overhead

My blog friend Su-siee! Mac is always posting clever and interesting photographs on her blog, and I am mesmerized by her black and white photo entries. Tonight she inspired me participate in the The Weekend in Black and White , so this post is a monochromatic image of a Joshua tree with the moon overhead. I went to Joshua tree on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago, but this is the perfect weekend road trip for people living in Southern California. There is just something serene about gazing at Joshua trees, which are surrounded by large boulders. Put away the cell phone when you get out there, and just spend some time enjoying nature.

    1. Oh yes, the Joshua Tree has a very strong connection to U2. Actually, it made me want to listen to those songs when going through my photos. The cool thing is a lot of young musicians in the LA area have been inspired by U2, and they go out to Joshua Tree to do photo shoots.

  1. Very cool composition, Julia. Because of your photos, I’ll no longer think of Joshua trees as being prickly or static. Now, they are hairy and fluid. Thanks for the mention. 🙂

    1. Your cool photo inspired me to join the challenge, so of course I would mention you :-). I love the hairy and fluid look of Joshua trees, but I would never pet one. It might be spikey.
