The Little Palm Tree

This palm tree planted itself near a set of abandoned railroad tracks, and it is replenished when the nearby storm drain fills up after a rainstorm.

There is a little palm tree near a storm drain, and the  planted itself there. I always enjoy looking at this palm, which is replenished after rain and snowstorms. There is something to be said for how nature chooses to landscape itself.

    1. It planted itself there, so it is in a slightly odd location. I just hope they never cut it down because I think it looks so serene.

    1. Nature definitely does reclaim the land. I noticed this when I went on a walk on the backside of the mountains where they closed off the dirt road. A few years without any cars driving on it many little bushes have began to spring up. I also thought it was amazing how at one time many little palm trees were growing on a railroad track that has been out of use since the 60s, but recently those were cleared out, and some new landscaping was added. Sometimes I just like the wild form of landscape over man-made cultivation.
