The Pacific Ocean Is Visible From The Rim of The World Highway

Today the ocean was visible from the Rim of the World Highway.

The sun is glistening off the ocean in the distance.

People say that Catalina Island is sometimes visible from the Rim of the World Highway, but I was just happy to spot the sun glistening off the Pacific Ocean in the distance. This portion of Highway 18 is about a mile above sea level, which makes it possible to see the ocean on a clear day.

The blurry image of the Pacific Ocean from the Rim has the look of an impressionist oil painting.

The video below shows how the Pacific Ocean appeared in the distance while driving down the Rim.
