Today the letter X is for Xanthic yellow, which is a very beautiful color. I love Spanish broom and how fragrant it smells when I am hiking along a trail, and here is a photograph I took of one such shrub.

That is beautiful. I think I’ve seen it before, but I’ve never noticed its scent.

The Spanish broom bushes can be found in the local deserts and mountains of Southern California. It is not an indigenous plant, but I still like it.
That is a lovely color! It reminds me of when my forsythia bush was in bloom. But now it has mostly gone green with leaves.
I really love the scent of Spanish broom.
I learned something new today; actually two something news. The name of that plant, which we have a lot of here, and that there is a color called xanthic yellow! Neat X post 🙂

I adored the Spanish broom plants when I was growing up, and would make leis out of these.
